The role of kidneys explained

The kidneys are one of the body's primary execratory mechanisms. Although less multi-functional than the liver, the human body can't live without these organs as they filter our blood constantly and remove all toxins from the body. Kidney detox is not a bad idea as, obviously, too much toxins will create the kidneys to be overworked. Less toxins can be eliminated, more toxins stay within your system, creating an unhealthy internal environment. A kidney detox diet will contribute to a decrease of toxic substances, which will contribute to an increase of the kidneys performance and thus an increase of the body performance.

Besides filtering the blood and remove toxins that have been made water-soluble by complex detox processes that take place in the liver, another task of the kidneys is helping to balance the body's internal environment. This balance is created by removing excess water, gases, salts and other organic materials, while conserving the substances the body requires for its normal functioning.

Each day, about 1,700 quarts of blood flows through the kidneys. Of that volume, only about 180 quarts is filtered, and of this fluid, 178 quarts is reabsorbed; the remaining amount, only one to two quarts, passes off as urine. In all, the kidneys filter an amount equal to the entire volume of blood about 30 to 36 times per day.

The ureter carries urine from the kidneys to the bladder where it is stored until it is voluntarily expelled at intervals.

If you can reduce the quantity of toxins by adapt your consumption pattern, the kidneys can eliminate a higher percentage of toxins from the blood. Besides that they will have more energy to create and guard the natural balance, resulting in a fit and energetic body.
